During the early spring of 2005 I contacted Ben to see if I could drop in to his home in central PA for a quick visit to get some pictures and better visual reference for the ship I am building. The pictures below are from that trip. I hope to add more as time goes on of not only Ben's ship but others as well. Enjoy

Heres a picture of Ben's Cock Pit. Simple Layout notice the 2 tachs on the left side one for the rotor and one for the engine. The other 2 gauges I believe were EGT & CHT or water temp as Ben is running a water cooled Rotax engine.
The picture above is showing the cyclic mount behind the seat with the 3 control rods that travel up to the swash plate. I believe the pully with the rope to the right was the starting rope that traveled up behind the pilots head for an over head pull start. The picture shows part 129 through 136.

This picture of the drive pulley is showing Bens testing of a snowmobile clutch for the drive system with the cog belt. Notice the radiator above the drive pulley and the squeeze bottle for the reservoir

The next 3 pictures are of the rotor head this one shows it from below.
This is an over head picture of the rotor head. What I noticed after I was back in New Jersey and reviewing the pictures was the bolt and washer shown on top the mast. I did not find that detail in the prints.
This is also an overhead picture of the rotor head from a different angle
Ah the swash plate still something of an enigma to me. One thing I did notice throughout Ben's ship is the wealth of lighting holes drilled in everything. Notice the red marking on the side of the swash plate. This was milled in to lighten the weight.
One thing I found very interesting on Ben's ship is that he found and installed a used 269 tail rotor linkage rather than using the one front the print. I have been searching for one myself so if anyone knows of one please contact me.
Another view of the tail rotor
yet another view of the tail rotor
This photo is showing the tail rotor linkage front the forward foot pedals.
I don't remember why I took this picture, but it might have been just to waste some film.
